Financial Support

The current support available to all victims of the contaminated blood tragedy is nowhere near what is needed to compensate people for what has been lost. Haemophilia Wales will continue to campaign for improved financial support and and acknowledgement by the Government.

The Government has made no provision for infected individuals to obtain life Insurance or mortgage protection.

Update on financial support (2017)

From 1 November 2017 support will be provided by a separate governmental organisation in each of the four UK devolved administrations, assistance is determined on the basis where an individual was infected with HIV and or Hepatitis C. All requests for assistance should be directed in the first instance to the dedicated offices list below.
